Relief starts here.
Comprehensive pelvic floor physical therapy for adults and older adolescents in Cumberland Foreside, Maine.
Welcome to Haven PT!
I’m Marny, your resident Maven, and I’d like to personally welcome you to my corner of the world, that places you at the center. If you’re like many of the folks who land on this page, there’s a good chance you may have never discussed your symptoms with a provider before, or even said them out loud to anyone. Perhaps you had no idea that anything could even be done. I know you don’t know me yet, but I want to assure you that whatever you’re experiencing, you’re not broken, and this isn’t “just how your body is now”.
Let’s figure out what’s going on. Relief starts here.
I invite you to think of Haven as a sanctuary; a place where you can find relief, regain hope, and begin your healing journey.
Haven Physical Therapy is a safe space to tell your story, to cry, to laugh, to pause—whatever you need. That’s where the name comes from. Pelvic floor conditions can be confusing, embarrassing, and are often tangled with feelings of shame or guilt.
What to Expect
I'm the sole provider at Haven Physical Therapy and Pelvic Health, and I'll be holding your hand and guiding your care from your initial phone call to our final session and return to all the activities you love.
Your first visit includes time for both examination and treatment and is scheduled for two hours. I realize this may seem like a long session, and it is, intentionally. Initial visits are two hours, and follow-up sessions are one hour so that I can identify the root cause of your symptoms, provide comprehensive treatment that leads to long-term relief, and most importantly, make sure that you never feel rushed.
It’s mind-boggling to me that patients are expected to summarize months or even years of symptoms into just a few minutes.

Your First Visit
At Haven PT, we’ll start off with a robust discussion and review of your medical history and current symptoms. This helps me create a working theory and guides the evaluation.
Your initial session will also include a comprehensive physical examination that looks at multiple systems of the body (musculoskeletal system, nervous system, urogenital system, visceral system) and may include an internal pelvic floor examination. Internal pelvic floor examination are considered the gold standard of pelvic floor care, but will only ever be performed with your full consent. Your comfort is my top priority.

My Treatment Approach
Treatment begins at your first session and can include a number of different interventions based on your symptoms and specific needs.
I take a multi-modal approach which means that I utilize a combination of manual work, corrective exercise, nervous system regulation strategies, lifestyle modifications, education, and modalities such as cupping, e-stim, and dry needling, based on your goals, your progress, and your symptoms that day.

Follow-Up Sessions
Mini examinations are performed each session to see how things are progressing, and you are always an active participant in the process. Clear communication starts at our very first session together, and is at the heart of every treatment.
You will always know what is going on, you will understand the purpose of every intervention, you will be fully aware of how things are progressing, and you will always be encouraged to share your concerns and ask any questions.
