Orthopedic Physical Therapy
But wait, there’s more!
Not everyone who comes to Haven PT is here for pelvic health.
I also treat general orthopedic conditions like the everyday aches and pains in your neck, jaw, back, hip, or feet, that show up over time or perhaps never fully resolved after an injury.
You do not need to have a pelvic floor concern to be treated here. Whether this issue is standalone or something you're dealing with alongside pregnancy, postpartum recovery, or pelvic floor symptoms, you will receive a whole-body approach that supports root-cause treatment and facilitates long-term resolution of your symptoms.

What to Expect
At Haven PT, orthopedic pelvic therapy utilizes the same integrated, whole-body approach I take with all of my patients. Issues like neck, back, or hip pain rarely come from one isolated structure, and a multi-system approach is the best way to both identify and address the actual drivers of dysfunction.
I'm the sole provider at Haven PT, and your entire plan of care, from your first phone call through your final session, will be with me. Every session takes place in a private treatment room, and treatment begins at your very first visit.
Your initial session includes a robust discussion and comprehensive physical examination that looks at multiple systems of the body (musculoskeletal system, nervous system, urogenital system, visceral system) along with your movement patterns.
Your first visit is scheduled for two hours and includes time for both examination and treatment. Follow-up visits are one hour long, and mini examinations are performed each session to track progress and ensure the plan of care continues to be best suited for your needs.
How Treatment Works
-
Where We Begin
Treatment begins at your first session and can include a number of different interventions including manual work, corrective exercise, nervous system regulation strategies, lifestyle modifications, education, and modalities such as cupping, e-stim, and dry needling based on your symptoms and specific needs.
-
Manual Therapy
Manual therapy is one of the cornerstones of treatment. Techniques may include soft tissue mobilization, visceral fascial mobilization, and other strategies designed to ease the tension and support pain relief and tissue recovery.
-
Movement
While manual therapy is powerful, movement is medicine, and it's just as essential for long-term resolution of symptoms. During our sessions, you will be coached through corrective and progressive exercise to help build strength, support posture and breath mechanics, and restore full function.
-
Home Program
Lastly, you'll also be given a realistic, individualized home program and lifestyle modifications to complement your sessions and keep things moving forward between visits.
The total number of sessions required depends on your specific presentation, but clear communication about outcomes and expectations starts at our very first session together, and you are always an active participant in the process. You will always know how things are progressing, you will understand the purpose of every intervention, and you will always be encouraged to share your concerns and ask any questions.
Frequently Asked Questions about Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
-
Bring or wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in. A loose fitting top and shorts or stretchy pants with an elastic waist are ideal.
-
Nope. I welcome standalone orthopedic issues as well as any orthopedic issues that accompany pelvic floor conditions.
-
Not unless it's relevant. If you're here for orthopedic care, that will be our focus. If I notice something that suggests a pelvic floor connection, I'll bring it up, and we can explore that if you feel comfortable. For example, I have found that a patient's persistent hip, low back, or SI pain can often have a pelvic floor dysfunction component that was never assessed. Additionally, if something directly pelvic-related comes up that you want to talk about, we will absolutely dive into that. Either way, an internal exam is never required or forced, and the choice to explore further is always yours.
